Conviction Chronicles blog post #39 - Songs: "NO MIND" and "You Thrill Me" have released!
I'm going to release another blog post sooner than later for some gameplay related stuff I've been working on, but this is for a planned "hint corner" optional mechanic that can be accessed after viewing the credits. Mainly as a way to explore certain aspects in more detail and to give more helpful advice to the player than the current Lily Corner which is more of it's own thing for now until it gets expanded upon much later on for the trials and Lily's gameplay. Of course there are two tracks for this due to the first and alternate credits/intro.

You Thrill Me
This is the starting track, it's more modern and made to be calming to get the player to relax and introspect before starting another run. There was also an idea to have it be more like a dance song so it can stand on it's own and to have the feeling of the game returning to a game state. I think it's sounds very "bubbly" and the vocals were meant to showcase the feeling of it and get the player to keep fighting on.
The song was made to be semi-romantic in a sense to play off Bianca's enjoyment of games. Spoilers can be inferred if you know where to look and are observant enough for multiple tiny details. It's something meant to be found out early as it's not hidden too much on purpose.
There is an instrumental and a vocal version. The plan is Bianca runs the "Hint Corner" if she is alive when the player ends their game where she gets the vocal version, and Mr.Cuddles with the instrumental if she isn't. Makes it more dynamic feeling which I hope will go through.
This song will play for it unless a certain thing happens, which is then replaced with No Mind.
NO MIND
No mind doesn't have an instrumental version as it's meant to be much more consistent. It's actively trying to be weirder for a darker hardcore tone as by this point the player knows enough on how to play the game and they mostly would need motivation with the light advice over anything else. There is a secondary story related thing with this, but I don't want to go into it here. Aspects of of the lyrics were made the way they were for a specific moment. The way to get to it has existed in the game for months now, but with certain aspects of the story, it would make much more sense for a certain moment to happen afterwards.
Anything else?
I'm going to finish up what I'm working on before writing a big blog post about it, and it's going to be a little long even if I avoid certain spoilers.
