Conviction Chronicles blog post #20 - Song "Now I have to say Goodbye" has released

I talked to the producer from before to help with some vocals and the general song for this, and it went very well. They did edit some of the lyrics I made to help fit the song more, but overall I like how it came out.

The main reason I am getting more than one vocal song is part of revamping the credits instead of what was there before so it's more alive feeling.

This song was inspired a little bit by Kimi ga Kureta Mono which I found it's bittersweetness perfect for a normal default ending in this game.

So I have a plan of having two credits songs. One is this song, which is more traditional/emotional where it fits the perspective of the Assistant. The second, which will be done eventually, is darker which follows in line with the player's understanding. The idea is to change the song after a certain point of no return is past where it makes the moment more impactful.

In total I plan on having 4 vocal songs. 1 for the title screen, 2 for the normal credits, and 1 for the true ending credits. The last vocal song will be done when everything else is 100% done.

I've also made sure each song's lyrics have already been made and they all follow each other. With "Her Eclipse" it's about a child's strength. "Now I have to say Goodbye" is about a parent coming to terms with this development.  The second credits song will be about the struggles of the child and the true credits song will be about overcoming the trial. So it all flows together which makes it stronger.

Game Setting Stuff

So I was trying to find a good solution to the cafe and the influence game, and I am adding a bunch tied to the Cafe to make it more alive feeling, but I feel the influence game will always be the same no matter what. So this has lead me to add the option to enable/disable the influence game and/or the cafe all together. Mainly if someone doesn't like the Influence game, they can disable it. Same with the Cafe, even though I heavily doubt people will disable the Cafe for that reason. This also means I have to rework certain things to make everybody more negative to each other at times since that is what the influence game does. But some people might not like the risk/chance at play in the Influence Game which has broader impact. Makes the game easier for people to customize how they want to play and more. I do have to add more to the game setting screen eventually, probably once I am done with the current mechanic, do I do want to have customizability for the player in some shape or form and for it to be expansive to allow for people to edit what they do and don't like without many problems getting in the way. It would also make repeat playthrough more interesting with changing the rules of how the game plays once in a while to make it very fresh.

Anything else?

Some stuff isn't done which is why I'm not typing about it here, even though some of it is mostly done outside the dialogue which is going to take a week or two.

But everything has been going smoothly. As long as I keep refining everything as I go along, it's going to come out very good.
