Conviction Chronicles blog post #41 - Updates to the pool

 




In short this adds some graphics to the swimming pool dialogue events where it has a more stylized version of the characters and their swimsuits. Every character is unique and they are isolated from the others, this image is being uploaded with everyone in it so it's easier to visualize. 

Note: Jade and Stripey doesn't have any art because:

1. Jade is a Robot who cannot swim.

2. Stripey isn't that interesting enough to get a stylized version since he has no swimsuit.

It's mostly fan service, there is also a day and night time variant. Bianca is still only at night, but I wanted to post the day time version with her here. I think overall it makes the swimming events more special.

Anything else?

Back to what I was doing before, which might be a little longer than expected due to one element of the idea I have set up.

 This is a smaller blogpost, but it does have enough info to warrant it. New Game Introduction When booting the game for the first time, there is a small introduction for "setting up the game's profile." This is mainly so I can set up biases. This is an idea that Gnosia does where items like what color the player chooses impacts the gameplay in very subtle way with enforcing a starting bias.  This also introduces a character that I have planned out for a couple of months now with some 2D sprites. Their 3D model is in the title screen itself. I don't want to go too in-depth with them, but their design has a bunch of symbolism for their role as an assistant type figure which might come apparent later on. Conviction Chronicles blog post #17 - Evidence gathering implemented

 This is going to be in an update to the demo, but there won't be as much text for this as most of the content done is backend code, which is more technical and doesn't much more to talk about for the average person. Evidence With evidence gathering, I had to go back to everything to add support for slots to be used to store certain information for the player and each living character. Basically it's a very dynamic way of gathering information and pushing it to the storage whenever possible. Lots of checks to make sure it runs well, and I still need to re-review it later to make sure it's doing every thing of evidence correctly. Conviction Chronicles blog post #14 - Demo Update + Some Minigames

 This update adds a bunch of smaller fixes and some major stuff. Might not be done uploading the update once I post this. New music Some areas, like the hospital/library/etc have gotten unique music. Since before they shared the shop theme but now it's a little more unique so each area can hold it's own identity.  New models/environment details This impacts the hospital and the prologue the most where new models and graphics were added to spice them up. Most placeholder 3D models have fully been removed.  The hospital has actual cyrosleep pods instead of beds with monitors overlooking everything, and the Prologue has many more details with an old TV for the screen, a bunch of rusty equipment, open wires, etc. The elevator in the main game being an actual elevator with open/closing doors instead of a door. The biggest was replacing all of the toilet and airvent models with something more detailed/fitting. Some more hidden details were added to the prologue with Tina's room...
